From humble beginnings as a one-woman show in 2017, our ever-growing team of animal lovers now provides a wide range of Services to our more than 1,100 happy Clients, including Dog Training, Dog Walking & Adventures, in-home Pet Sitting, Wedding Pet Assistant Services, School Education Program, and Pet Transportation.

Pawz & Me is registered and fully insured, plus our team are all police-check certified and trained in Pet First Aid. We’re not only passionate and experienced, but we ensure all pets are in safe, capable, and loving hands.

We have seen that offering a way to connect with fellow residents and interact with a dog helps boost happiness, reduce stress and creates an environment that can combat loneliness.
A wide range of studies have found that dog companionship can improve the mental health of seniors as well as combat loneliness among older people. Researchers have found that senior dog owners reported significantly lower levels of loneliness compared to those without dogs.
Although we understand that having a pet is not an option within aged care facilities, we believe we can offer residents the next best thing by planning regular visits where they can interact with a dog and engage in social activities with others. Residents during past visits have told us how much they enjoyed the experience and how they look forward to each time we pop in.

Our visits don’t require any additional staff or resources, as our Pet Assistants are present throughout the entire visit and bring all necessary resources with them.
Our program can be easily incorporated into your school’s schedule, as we can come at a time that suits you best.
We come to you so your residents can stay in the comfort of their own environment and our visits are therefore fully accessible for everyone.
Who doesn’t love dogs?! Our program will be something your students genuinely look forward to and engage with, whilst being informative and educational.
What do our Pet Visits involve?
We take all the work out of your hands to provide your residents with a heart-warming and cup-filling experience. Our Pet Assistant will be present throughout the entire duration of the visit to look after the dog, ensure they are well-behaved and answer any questions your residents may have.
The dogs we bring with us on Pet Visits are long-term clients of ours, therefore we are confident that their temperament, socialisation skills and level of training are suitable for an aged care facility. We also ensure that they are up-to-date with their vaccinations and are toilet-trained.
We offer plenty of time for every resident to interact with the dog (our dogs are known lovers of belly rubs) at their own pace and in a way that is most comfortable to them. We customise our visits based on your residents’ needs and wishes and are happy to work with you to ensure each and every visit is a success. We can for instance walk around the facility and visit residents in their homes if it is not possible to set up a communal area for multiple residents to enjoy the Pet Visit simultaneously.
